Abstract:
The term orchestration comprises the employment of independent web services using workflow technologies to deliver complex, digital services. This concept has been successfully proven; however, neither web services nor present workflow technologies offer the possibility to request, display or account for the resulting costs.
The main goal of this master thesis is to present solutions for the reasonably applicable accounting of orchestrated web services. For this purpose available and foreseeable technologies will be introduced and analyzed. Subsequently the implementation of a typical business process out of the tourism industry will be discussed along with some extensions to add simple accounting functionality to the workflow. Since not all major requirements can be implemented with available technologies, in the concluding part of this paper conceptual solutions will be presented.
