Abstract:
This thesis describes the design and realization of a web based information system for the administration of university teaching which supports both students and university lecturers in as comfortable a way as possible and permits a save administration of the necessary data.
The result of this work is ISIS - the Intelligent Student Information System.
At first web information systems are introduced. As the name suggests, these are information systems using web technology. Then, starting from the term „information“, a characterization of information systems is given. What follows is some information about web applications and of their benefits which are the basis of their success. After a definition of web information systems the integration of information systems and security issues of web applications are treated. Finally the planning and requirements specification of ISIS are described and the finished system is presented.
