Abstract:
The emergence of new technologies together with the growing use of Internet are the key drivers for the change how business is done nowadays. “Virtual enterprise†is only one of the buzzwords popping up in everyone’s mind. This master thesis aims at the development of a resource management system that is capable of managing the information of a virtual enterprise as well as of handling customers’ requests to the service providers of such a virtual enterprise. The resource management system therefore acts as an intermediary between service providers and customers, capable of taking action autonomously. This system is based on an ontology, which covers different fields of e-commerce and can be adopted by various existent Internet applications. This work focuses mainly on the service providers’ view on business processes and web interfaces. Finally the results of the project work and prospects for the future are provided.
