Abstract:
The starting point of this treatise are important theoretical basics and definitions, as well as fundamental considerations about process orientation. Subsequently the focus will be on the business process management. A further point are basics concerning the measurement, the meaning and the realization of data. The main part of this treatise concentrates on the business process management in the semiconductor industry as demonstrated with examples of Infineon Technologies Villach AG, starting with the situation at the beginning, continuing with the motives for a process orientation, possibilities to take advantage of process potentials and ending with the methodical realization of the process structuring. Finally there is a conclusion with general results, the results of the practical work and prospects for the future.
The decisive factor to take advantage of the process potentials is to identify them for the first time. Therefore it is the task to define, structure, represent and describe the respective business processes. The, so called ?Prozesssteckbriefe? which are presented in this treatise, offer a framework for a homogeneous structured, easily intelligible, visual representation and description of business processes in all parts of a company. Further attention is paid to the creation of process orientated data. So the procurement process can be analyzed and optimized, in view of an increase of performance and cost cutting aspects, with the help of this fundamental findings.
